Design of recycled materials based on tennis/padel balls
Sustainaballs, 2024
Development of a recycled material from tennis and padel ball waste, which consists of a rubber core and a textile coating mainly based on polyamide, along with intermediate layers and elements that make recovery difficult.
Separation attempts to obtain homogeneous streams of each material are costly and industrially complex to implement. Instead, an open-loop approach has made it possible to transform this waste into a range of new materials with adjustable properties and aesthetic variability, opening up a wide set of potential applications. The work is currently ongoing to consolidate performance, stability, and scalability of the material.
