Material selection for a medical device
Happy Innova, 2024
A medical device aimed at performing analytical tests in pediatric users through saliva sample collection. Together with the Happy Innova team and the network of professionals who will use the system, we carried out a technical circularity assessment of the product, evaluating its recyclability, component architecture, and the main end-of-life bottlenecks.
Based on this analysis, design improvements were defined to enhance its circular performance, including the redesign of critical areas, material selection, and construction recommendations to facilitate disassembly, material separation, and recovery. The result is an optimization proposal focused both on real recyclability and on its potential for servitization in healthcare contexts.
