Expormim, during the year that it was the winner of the National Design Award, relied on OiKo to deepen its knowledge of the environmental impact of its most representative chairs. We have carried out an in-depth analysis of the environmental impacts during the process of obtaining a renewable material such as rattan and the energy and production requirements in the factory for its transformation into a chair. To validate the sustainability of the material, a comparison has been made with respect to a European oak wooden chair with an equivalent design that allows assessing the environmental behavior and design potential of both alternatives.
